Specialists and a dental laboratory in one clinic

Wimpole Street Dental Clinic is a private, partner-run practice in the Harley Street medical district of Marylebone. Every dentist is a registered specialist or works to a declared special interest, so implants, gum care, endodontics, orthodontics and cosmetic work are planned together, not referred out. The clinic runs its own laboratory, with technicians in London working alongside master technicians in Munich.

Treatments

Hygiene, fillings, inlays and partial crowns, gum disease therapy, root canal treatment and retreatment, wisdom teeth, TMJ and bruxism. Missing teeth are replaced with bridges, dentures, full-mouth reconstruction and implants — immediate, computer-navigated, All-on-4 and zygomatic, with bone grafting and peri-implantitis treatment. Cosmetic work covers veneers, bonding and whitening; orthodontics runs to lingual braces and Invisalign.

Technology and the surgical suite

Oral surgery is carried out in a sterile operating theatre, with a sedationist team and monitored recovery rooms. A Piezotome II cuts bone ultrasonically, sparing nerves and vessels. Imaging runs on a low-dose 3D unit, and an optical scanner replaces impression trays. Each treatment room has an intra-oral camera.

The clinicians

Prof Christian Mehl is partner and principal: a GDC-registered prosthodontics specialist, an implantologist certified by the German Society of Implantology, a professor at Kiel University and author of over seventy peer-reviewed papers. Partner Dr Raul Costa takes cosmetic and restorative work; Jennifer Boardman is a partner, therapist and hygienist. Dr Sanjana Sudarshan is the specialist orthodontist; endodontics goes to Dr Negin Mosahebi and Dr Stefan Ciapryna.

Are crowns and dentures made in-house? Yes. Scans go digitally to the clinic’s own laboratory, where metal-free ceramic restorations are milled or pressed.

What is offered for dental phobia? Unhurried appointments with the same dentist, painless injections and, if needed, intravenous conscious sedation under monitoring.

Can an implant be placed the day a tooth is removed? Immediate implants are a declared focus of the principal, including inflamed sites; suitability is decided on the 3D scan.
